Thank you for your preaching

As a pastor, you sometimes wonder if what you say each week is making an impact on the lives of the people to whom you speak. I think I am like any other pastor, you wonder if your voice that has become so familiar that people are not really listening. You know they “hear” you but are they really getting what you are saying from God’s Word.

A few weeks ago I received a note from one of the members of Open Bible, it has been such an encouragement to me that I have carried it around with me. The note reads.

Pastor,

I want to thank you for your preaching and walk with God. I prayed for you this morning and felt lead to share with you some things I have received from your preaching recently. Thank you for the impact these can have in my life.

  • What you are doing for the Kingdom reveals your relationship with the King.
  • The more you get to know the Lord, the more you will get to know about yourself.
  • Be careful about getting so busy for God that you are not being for God.
  • The world will not notice a difference if there is not a difference.

To the one who took the time to write this note, thank you! You encouraged your pastor and your fellow disciple of Christ.

It is never wrong to encourage someone in the Lord, who have you encouraged today to walk with Jesus a little farther?
